Crochet Burgundy Cowl

This is a burgundy cowl made from Caron Simply Soft yarn. It has burgundy, reds and brown colors in it. It is very long and is best worn doubled around your neck. You can also drape it around your shoulders to add warmth. It's for the cold winter months. It measures 70" x 11".

Silk Curved Scarf

This is my newest accessory that I made during a Knit Along on Craftsy. This was a class taught by Iris Schreier, who designs beautiful lace knits. I used Artyarns Regal Silk yarn. I think it's beautiful and hope to have the time to make some for Christmas Gifts.

Skywalker Shawl

I decided to take a lace knitting class online from Craftsy and made this beautiful shawl. This is the Skywalker Shawl designed by Laura Nelkin. I hope to make many more classes. I completely enjoyed knitting this pattern even though it was difficult. I learned so much and can't wait to knit more. This is Ella Rae Lace Merino yarn.

What a difference the blocking makes!

Knit Picks Knitting Needles

Just got my new needles from Knit Picks in the mail today and can't wait to use them. They're beautiful! I'm going to take an online lace knitting class from Craftsy  called "Knit This: Mastering Lace Shawls" and ordered new needles to use!

Vintage Lace Afghan

I started to make an afghan last year for my mother for Mother's Day. I got side tracked, a lot, and finally finished it for her this year. I was very happy with how it turned out. I think it's really pretty. It's made from Lion Brand Vanna's Choice yarn and the color is Seaspray Mist. I probably wouldn't have chosen this yarn for myself because it feels a bit scratchy and is a tiny bit fuzzy. However, my mom loves it. The colors in this yarn are very very pretty. The body of the afghan was very easy because I've made rippled afghans before. The lace edging took several attempts before I could get the hang of it. However, it was worth it because I think the pattern is beautiful! I used the pattern from "Afghans For All Seansons Book 2" by Leisure Arts. Now I have to decide what to work on next. I think I'm going to try my hand at knitting a lace shawl. This could take another year to complete!

My Etsy Store

How exciting! I finally posted the 2 Chunky Cowls I made on the Etsy website by opening a store. I  now have my Blog, a Ravelry site and Etsy store. In addition to the Chunky Cowl in the Aspen Tweed color, you can purchase a Chunky Cowl in a purple/pink color called Phoenix Azalea. You can go to the website by clicking on my store named MaryBeeKnits. This is the chunky Cowl in Phoenix Azalea:
This is the Chunky Cowl in Aspen Tweed. I'm wearing it a lot! It was made with Lion Brand Hometown USA yarn. It's very simple to make. I made a crochet chain of 80 stitches, with a crochet hook size N, and then used a slip stitch to connect them. I then made a double crochet in each stitch and made 10 rows total. It's very warm and soft. More information about the Chunky Cowl is also posted on Ravelry. I love the soft feel of this yarn.
This cowl was crocheted in Aspen Tweed yarn by Lion Brand Hometown USA:

The Rochelle Cowl

The red cowl that you see pictured below was made for a teacher I worked with. Her name is Rochelle so I named it the Rochelle Cowl. This cowl was so easy and enjoyable to make. I want to share the pattern with everyone. I also made this cowl in white. I gave the white cowl to a close friend at work, Pam. It's so nice to be able to make these cowls for people and them give them as gifts. This is made from Premier Yarns Everyday Soft Worsted.
